A Day for Wales 2013

We want to encourage churches to pray for Wales throughout the year, and to make this a special focus around St David's Day.

Suggestions for your ‘Wales Day’

We suggest that you give 5-10 minutes in your main Sunday meeting to give:

An awareness of the need

Explain the challenges facing us in areas without live churches.  Explain the particular needs of Welsh language areas where tradition and formalism have a strong hold and where congregations are often elderly and declining rapidly.

Please see our Prayer page for specific information.  You can also download a copy here.  You will also find links to encouraging stories from different parts of Wales on our Videos page.

A time of corporate prayer

Pray for Wales generally, encourage people to pray for one or two particular situations that are relevant for your church and for any initiative that you have links with already.

Further action

Perhaps you could raise a discussion through small groups in your church on how churches and individuals could be involved to help and support situations in other parts of Wales.

Waleswide has developed a new training session to help contextualise our churches in the light of Welsh culture and history and the present day challenges: Where on earth is Wales?  Please discuss and pray about your church's engagement with these issues.  For further details see our Waleswide Training page.
